We are currently looking for a Industrial Designer to carry on the legacy as part of our in-house research and Development team.
Our dynamic R&D team has a long history of successful product development and now has the need to expand and increase momentum!
We are on the lookout for the right person, who will be able to take a new helmet design from concept through to production. Based in a dedicated on-site R&D facility and full test laboratory you will be involved in design research, concept design, user group interaction, clay sculpting, building 3D CAD parts and assemblies, producing technical drawings, prototype and product testing, third party certification, production engineering, transition & documentation. At the end of a successful project, you will see your design come down the production line at our own factory and be shipped off to save lives in over 83 countries.
The successful applicant will report to the R&D Manager and will undertake multiple projects whilst being involved in other work when required, making good time management a critical part of any applicants skill set.
The successful applicant will ideally have: - An Industrial Design qualification or equivalent. - A creative mind with good analytical and problem solving skills. - Knowledge of materials, processes and the ability to research and investigate new ones. - An eye for good Design. - Self-motivation. - Good time management skills and the ability to work to tight deadlines. - Experience with Solidworks or equivalent 3D CAD software. - Good workshop and model making skills, and a hands on approach. - Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in the R&D team and through the entire organisation. - A passion for learning. - A background in physics and material sciences is a bonus
